Box Score & Game Highlights

Game Notes:
  • The only run of the game was scored without the ball leaving the infield. No. 51 Yu Mong Xiong reached base on an error by pitcher Orlando Roman on a bunt attempt. The Rhinos then successfully sacrificed Yu over to second and then a groundout would move Yu over to third. Roman then uncorked a wild pitch that would allow Yu to score the games deciding run.
  • Rhinos starter Jared Lansford has made five starts this season and four of those have come against his former club, Lamigo Monkeys. He is now 1-2 against them allowing ten runs in 21 innings. The win marked Lansford's first of the year.
  • Lamigo starter Orlando Roman was the tough-luck loser going seven strong innings of four-hit ball. In his three starts since returning from the bullpen he has given up just two earned runs in 11 hits over 18 innings of work, but has just one win to show for it.
  • Monkeys Lin Zhi Ping has an 11-game hit streak on the go.
  • Lamigo C/DH Lin Hung Yu, owner of a 42-game on-base streak and a 15-game hitting streak, heading into the game, did not start. He came in as a pinch hitter in the bottom of the ninth and flew out, thus ending his impressive streak.
  • Rhinos No. 1 Lin Che Hsuan took a pitch off of his arm and was forced to exit the game. He has played in every game so far in 2016.
  • Rhinos No. 66 Chang Chien Ming has a seven-game hit streak but had the night off.
  • Rhinos OF/DH No. 15 Hu Chin Lung hasn't played since May 7 due to a hand injury.
  • Lamigo has allowed at least one run in 93 consecutive games, dating back to last season. That number is a league record.
  • EDA leads the season series 12-3 and the Rhinos are 5-1 vs. the Monkeys in their last six contests.
  • With the victory the Rhinos are now only 2.5 games back from the first-place Brothers.
