Game Notes:
  • With two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning and the game tied at one, Monkeys DH Yang Tai-Chun singled to center to drive in Lin Hung-Yu, giving the Monkeys the go-ahead run. The Monkeys then blew it open with five in the fifth, coasting to another win in Taoyuan.
  • The reigning league MVP, Monkeys young slugger Wang Po-Jung, belted a 3-run shot off Guardians SP Chris Seddon. He went 1-for-3, extending his hitting streak to 15 games and keeping his average at .418.
  • Guardian starter Chris Seddon did not record a quality start, lasting just 4.1 innings, surrendering 6 earned runs on 8 hits.
  • Monkeys SP Zack Segovia was lights out once again. He gave up one unearned run on six hits in seven innings pitched.
  • Lamigo wins its ninth straight at home. The Monkeys haven't yet lost in Taoyuan this season.
  • When asked in the post-game interview of his pitching strategy, Lamigo SP Zack Segovia replied: "In this hitter's league, I just try to stay ahead [in the counts] and follow the instructions of catcher Hsiao-Pan [Lin Hung-Yu]."
  • Fubon Guardians have lost six straight games to Lamigo Monkeys, the longest in team history.
