Home Runs:

Monkeys: None

Game Notes:
  • Monkeys SP Zeke Spruill dazzled once again, pitching six strong innings of four-hit ball while striking out 10 and walking two. The 27-year-old is now 7-0 in nine starts and has reached double digits in strikeouts three times on the season.
  • Brothers SP Bruce Kern was matching Spruill pitch for pitch until he ran into trouble coming out of the fifth-inning break. With the game tied 1-1 in the bottom of the sixth, the Monkeys got to him with four straight hits and two runs before leaving the game with the bases loaded with what appeared to be an injury. The Monkeys scored twice more in the inning off of reliever Lin Yu-Ching to take a 5-1 lead.
  • The Brothers rallied with three in the ninth thanks to Chen Tzu-Hao's bases-loaded double off of Lamigo closer Chen Yu-Hsun but fell one run short in the end.
  • Monkeys OF Wang Po-Jung extended his on-base streak to 34 games and is now batting .426.
  • The Monkeys have won five in a row.
  • Lamigo leads the season series 6-5.
Game time: 3:27

  1. To be honest, Spruill was lucky to be spared by Brothers earlier as we could be see a number of pitches that went off the radar.

On the other hand, I thought Kern was in control till he went haywire in the bottom sixth and, of course, without the support from the batting order.
