Friday, September 8, 2017

WP: No. 71 Lin Kuo-Yu (2-1, 3.78 ERA))
LP: No. 78 Orlando Roman (4-7, 3.98 ERA)
S: No. 20 Chen Yu-Hsun (32)
MVP: Lamigo LF Chu Yu-Hsien (2-3, R, 2 RBI, BB)

Home Runs:
Brothers: None
Monkeys: No. 9 Wang Po-Jung (28)

Game Notes:
  • Chu Yu-Hsien broke his bat and flared a two-out opposite-field single to left to snap a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the seventh as the Monkeys edged the Brothers 3-2 in the first game of the weekend series in Taoyuan.
  • Both starters were excellent tonight. Orlando Roman went 6.2 innings and gave up just two earned runs but was saddled with the loss as Chu's game-winning RBI turned out to be the last batter he faced. Lamigo's Darin Downs turned in a quality start, giving up one earned run on six hits in six innings.
  • Where do we start with Wang Po-Jung (2-for-3, R, HR, RBI, BB)? He hit a leadoff home run, his 28th, to extend his league lead. He has a 14-game hit streak on the go. He has scored at least one run in seven straight games. And he has at least two hits in seven games in a row. #MVP
