Game Notes:

  • This game was suspended back on Aug.17 and was rescheduled twice but it still couldn't stop the Lamigo Monkeys from defeating the Fubon Guardians with seventeen hits! The game also dropped their magic number to zero, crowning the Monkeys as second-half champions in year 29 of the CPBL.

  • The MVP of this game, Yen Hung-Chun, did so with his game-winning RBI in the bottom of the second and later on added a second RBI in the fourth. His hitting has been awakened in October, sporting a 0.440 AVG so far in the month. It must be a good encouragement to him as he fights for a spot on the 28-man roster during the Taiwan Series.

  • The Monkeys continued their famous offensive attack on their opponents in this game with 17 hits, including two home runs and two doubles. Their hot hitting surely makes the other teams uneasy. Some fans have compared the Monkeys to the Cleveland Indians with stable run-production to help them punch their ticket to the offseason.

  • The Guardians scored all of their runs with the long ball in this game, including a two-run and a three-run homer. This may prove that their starting line-up is not fluid when men are on base. If they want to break through in the first round of the playoffs, a high value needs to be placed on this problem.
