  • The Lions SP Ryan Verdugo pitched six strong innings, serving up seven hits and two earned runs while the Guardians SP Mike Loree was replaced after 5.2 innings, giving up eight hits and three earned runs as he took the loss.
  • The Guardians had a lead thanks to Chen Ping-Chieh and Hu Chin-Lung’s consecutive hits in the third inning. Their good fortune did not last long as the Lions C Lin You-Le hit a go-ahead single in the top of the sixth inning with the score tied 2-2.
  • Tonight the Lions showed good efficiency stealing bases. They attempted a steal four times and were caught only once. Lions manager Huang Kan-Lin said their speed could disrupt the pitchers’ rhythm and that’s one of the reasons the Lions got their second win tonight.
  • Now the series at 2-1 in favor of the Lions, the Guardians have to play a do-or-die game tomorrow to make it to the Taiwan Series.
