About Us

CPBL English is a website devoted to providing baseball fans with comprehensive English coverage of Taiwan's Chinese Professional Baseball League.

We were founded in 2016 by three Canadian expats—Brandon DuBreuil, Josh Inglis and Wayne McNeil—who have been living in Taiwan for a decade or so. We all have past baseball and writing experience and were color commentators at the WBSC Premier12 baseball tournament in 2015.

The CPBL currently does not have an official English website, making it difficult for those who don't speak Mandarin Chinese to follow the league. CPBL English's goal is to help fans around the world follow the CPBL and Taiwanese baseball in general.

In 2018, CPBL English was placed in the hands of the extremely knowledgeable Clive Hsu. Hsu is a very well respected member of the Taiwanese baseball community as his previous endeavours (Chen Chin-Feng's interpreter and the USA national team's interpreter for the inaugural P12) make him an ideal individual to help spread the word of Taiwanese baseball and the CPBL to an ever-increasing English audience.

As of 2019, the website will be entrusted to Dr. Jason Huang at National Taiwan University of Sport. He and a group of students in the Department of Sports Information & Communication will be taking over the website and all future communication.

CPBL English is not affiliated with the CPBL, any of its teams or players.
